![]() In addition to the keynote speaker and expert discussions, the coalition partners with NAMI Greater Corpus Christi to host a Friends & Family event to provide attendees an opportunity to ask specific questions. Over the years, the coalition has commissioned speakers from The Menninger Clinic, The University of Texas, Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, The Department of Veterans Affairs, and other local agencies. Each symposium is held in September in accordance with World Suicide Prevention Day, which is acknowledged on September 10th.Įach year the symposium has grown in attendance and recognition. The second event works to gather and educate providers and professionals about various topics, such as, ethical dilemmas and prevention. The first event is intended for community members and professionals to gather in order to discuss specific services and support groups that are available throughout the Coastal Bend. This event is free and open to the public and will provide professionals and community members alike the opportunity to ask questions about suicide prevention over a two-day period. Book and complete your first class with iSPEAK Language Learning Program and record up to 1 minute of yourself or your child enjoying the class with iSPEAK educators. To qualify for Third Place Prize, each participant must have the third highest number of LIKES over 50 on iSPEAK's shared post (with your tag attached) by 11:59 PM on December 22, 2022. To qualify for Second Place Prize each participant must have the second highest number of LIKES over 100 on iSPEAK's shared post (with your tag attached) by 11:59 PM on December 22, 2022. To qualify for the First Place Prize each participant must have the most LIKES over 100 from iSPEAK's share post (with your tag attached) by 11:59 PM on December 22, 2022. Video entries must be entered via the iSPEAK website or email at Short stories must be emailed to iSPEAK will share your video entry on iSPEAK social media outlets, Facebook and Instagram. These are just two ideas, but your idea could be much different! All videos must be engaging and showcase at least one aspect of your culture. Some ideas may be showing the preparation of a family recipe or presenting a traditional science or art form. This topic is broad so there are plenty of opportunities to make your video as creative or as simple as you’d like. The video must show how young people engage in their culture. The participant must use an indigenous African language throughout the video. Time rules for each category is explained on the registration form. Video submissions must be at least 30 seconds long but not more than 5 minutes. Participants are between the ages of 6 and 21 years old.
